BODY OVERVIEW:Â
The sculpting on the 1958 Apache is legendary for its quad headlights and distinctive hood pods, and this fleetside body carries those iconic lines with plenty of dignity. Peer into the short bed and you will find a beautifully finished wood floor that acts as the ultimate centerpiece, adding a warm, premium contrast to the sheet metal. While the truck maintains a largely authentic appearance, it has been tastefully outfitted with a set of polished tri-spoke wheels that add a subtle touch of custom attitude. The underside tells a slightly different story, appearing as though it was either left unrestored during the refresh or restored prior to the top-side work, as it displays typical signs of age, road wear, and corrosion in some areas. PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW:Â
Cloaked in a handsome dark blue paint job, this Chevy is accented by a striking gold insert on the rear bed sides that highlights the fleetside's unique trim. Because this is an older restoration that has spent time out in the real world, the finish is not flawless but still holds a wonderful shine and shows really well from a short distance. The cosmetic imperfections are minimal and limited to normal surface scratches and general wear consistent with an older paint job on a vehicle that has been driven and enjoyed. It is a highly presentable finish that frees you from the absolute terror of a single rogue rock chip on the highway, but is also plenty beautiful to show off at a cruise-in!
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW:Â
Inside the cabin, you are treated to a charming blue and silver design that beautifully mirrors the truck's exterior character. The seating arrangement consists of a utilitarian but comfortable vinyl bench seat that is in great condition and shows nicely. While the dashboard maintains its classic, clean appearance, a clever nod to modern convenience has been hidden away out of sight: an AM/FM stereo is tucked neatly under the bench seat, allowing you to enjoy your favorite cruising soundtracks without ruining the period-correct 1958 aesthetic of the interior. MECHANICAL OVERVIEW:Â
Under the hood rests a smooth-running inline-six engine that provides the honest, reliable torque these trucks were famous for. This is thing is no drag-racer, but the six cylinder is more than enough power for every day cruising. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a traditional 3-speed manual transmission that shifts nicely through the gears (but remember, this truck was designed as a utility implement–not a luxury vehicle!).
